Cala Paradís Jávea

Cala Paradís Jávea

Cala Paradís Jávea

Cala Paradis Jávea is one of those corners that seem to be taken from a movie: a small cove hidden between cliffs, with transparent water and a "beach inside a cave" aspect that lives up to its name. And yet, it is relatively new: this little paradise appeared after the passage of the Gloria storm in 2020, which completely remodelled this part of the Xàbia coast.

What is Cala Paradís Jávea and where is it

Cala Paradis Jávea is a very small and hidden cove, located between Cap Negre and Punta Plana, on the coast of Xàbia. It is considered one of the most secret coves in the municipality, to the point that it does not appear in many general tourist lists of beaches in Jávea, which focus on classic coves such as Granadella, Portitxol or Ambolo.

The particularity of this cove is that:

  • It has no road access.

  • There is no path enabled to go down on foot.

  • It can only be reached by sea, which greatly limits the influx of people.

Cala Paradís Xàbia: a new cove created by the Gloria storm

The history of Cala Paradis Xàbia is very recent. Until 2020, this area of the coast was known by divers as an area of rocks and small caves, but not as a cove as such. It was the Gloria storm, a strong storm that hit much of the Mediterranean in January 2020, which, with its waves and its dragging of boulders, ended up shaping this small beach of gravel and stones.

since:

  • It has become one of the most talked about coves among kayak and paddle surf lovers.

  • He has appeared in reports and blogs specialized in routes along the Costa Blanca.

  • It remains a relatively uncrowded corner precisely because it cannot be reached on foot or by car.

This combination of recent origin, complicated access and spectacular beauty is what has made the Paradis Jávea cove famous as "the new secret cove of Xàbia".

Natural environment of Cala Paradís Jávea: cliffs, cave and turquoise waters

Visually, Cala Paradis Jávea impresses for several reasons:

  • It is wedged between limestone rock walls that form a kind of natural amphitheater.

  • At calm tide, the water is so transparent that the bottom of stones and rock is perfectly appreciated.

  • Part of the cove is under a large hollow in the rock, which gives that feeling of "beach inside a cave" that is seen in many photos of the Paradis cove.

It is a fragile environment, without services, without lifeguards and without equipment. That is precisely why it is advisable to visit it with respect and with good prior planning.
